Our Mission
Suicide Awareness and Prevention in Ukraine
Suicide Prevention Ukraine is at the heart of the 101 Roses Foundation. Founded in loving memory of Anna-Mariya, our mission is to raise suicide awareness, promote prevention, encourage open dialogue, support young people who are struggling, and provide trusted educational resources for families, friends, educators, and communities.
Suicide Prevention Ukraine Through Remembrance
To honour Anna-Mariya’s memory, we raise awareness and prevention of suicide by encouraging open dialogue and discussion, providing support, and creating hope for young people who are struggling. We turn remembrance into action and compassion into change.
We believe every life matters. Through Suicide Prevention Ukraine, we hope to help young people feel seen, heard, valued, and supported before a crisis becomes a tragedy.
Providing Support for Ukrainian Teens
We provide emotional support, educational resources, and safe spaces for young people, families, and communities.
Many people searching for Suicide Prevention Ukraine resources are looking for practical guidance. Through our website, we aim to provide access to support services, crisis resources, and information that may help save lives.
Creating Hope Through Suicide Prevention Ukraine
Through open conversations, education, and suicide prevention advocacy, we strive to remind every young person that they are never alone.
We believe one conversation, one act of kindness, and one moment of genuine connection can make a profound difference.
Why Suicide Prevention Ukraine Matters
Suicide is a complex public health issue that affects individuals, families, schools, and entire communities. Young people today face challenges that previous generations could never have imagined, including social isolation, cyberbullying, academic pressure, anxiety, uncertainty, trauma, and the long-term consequences of war.
The goal of Suicide Prevention Ukraine is not simply to respond to crises after they occur. Prevention begins long before that point. It begins with education, awareness, communication, understanding, and reducing the stigma surrounding mental health struggles.
Many young people who experience suicidal thoughts do not truly want to die; they want relief from emotional pain, hopelessness, loneliness, or overwhelming circumstances. By creating opportunities for connection and support, we hope to help young people find a path forward during difficult times.
Supporting Ukrainian Teens and Families
Following the 2022 full-scale Russian invasion, official nationwide teenage suicide rates in Ukraine became difficult to measure due to disrupted data collection and large-scale civilian displacement. However, studies examining adolescent mental health suggest a severe crisis, with reports indicating that approximately one in three adolescents in conflict-affected regions experienced suicidal thoughts or suicide attempts.
- Suicide Attempts: Research indicates that between 6% and more than 10% of adolescents in heavily affected regions reported attempting suicide.
- Comparative Risk: Teenagers exposed to conflict conditions were significantly more likely to experience severe depressive symptoms and suicidal behaviour.
- Gender Differences: Studies have reported higher rates of suicidal ideation and suicide attempts among adolescent girls in affected areas.
These findings reinforce the importance of Suicide Prevention Ukraine initiatives and the need for accessible resources, support systems, and mental health education.

The Future of Suicide Prevention Ukraine
The 101 Roses Foundation was created from loss, but our mission is rooted in hope.
We know we cannot save everyone. We know that not every tragedy can be prevented. However, if our efforts help even one young person reach out, seek support, or find a reason to keep going, then our work has meaning.
Through Suicide Prevention Ukraine, we honour Anna-Mariya’s memory by striving to create a future where fewer families experience the unimaginable grief of losing a child, sibling, friend, or loved one to suicide.
“The 101st rose represents the one life we must never overlook.”
